Photography

Morning Sun. Vestal, New York. 21-Oct 2015

I've been photographing seriously since 2013 and feel most at home with moody, monochromatic tonalities. I don't embrace the idea of photography as visual record. Rather, I see it as a way to bring out impressions latent in a scene — the photograph as an image of a memory, whether invented or real.
By trade I'm a classicist, with a specialization in Greek literature. I teach in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies at Binghamton University.
